- The whole family
Mr. D. Ganger
We liked the first one so much, we bought a second one for our cabin at a nearby lake.
Due to the hand-forged nature of our carbon steel cookware and with each piece being slightly unique, we do not have a custom fitting lid for our Deep Farmhouse skillet.
We think that the handle of our Deep Farmhouse skillet is too handsome to cover up with a sleeve, so we do not have a custom fit sleeve for this piece. We recommend using our full-grain leather or suede potholder however.
With any piece of carbon steel cookware heat will eventually make its way to the handle. However, more often than not if making a quick stir-fry or searing a piece of protein the handle will not get hot.

I have the cast Iron 12 smithey! Love it...but as I age....the pot is very heavy for me!! I use it but needed a lighter option!
Love this carbon steel Skillet...yes, lighter , and with all the best qualities of cast iron! Great searing and cooking!
Wow this is an incredible pan and I look forward to passing on to family when I'm gone. No doubt it will be in the family for generations.
I recently purchased the little farmhouse skillet and liked it so much I bought the deep, larger version. I’ve cooked extensively (every morning and night) with both skillets and they have been a pleasure to use. I’ve prepared everything from classic French omelette’s to pan seared ruby trout. They perform as advertised in terms of their non-stick capabilities. Clean up is easy! I apply a super thin sheen of cooking oil after each use to keep them shiny and ready to go for the next use. They have a permanent home on my stove top burners.
Amazing, it’s now my favorite pan. Use it every day
