We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

Wish we would’ve made this move years ago. I’ve had a smaller one to use for cornbread for years, but now we cook most everything in our Smithey’s.
This pan beats any non stick I've ever owned.
This skillet takes some getting used to if you aren't used to cooking on cast iron. That said, once you get used to it it will be your go to skillet for everything. Just make sure you follow all of the recommendations and keep it well seasoned.
This skillet is wonderful. Completely nonstick and it sears very well. It’s in use daily.
