My first attempt at cast iron was with a new lodge skillet and it just never got nonstick enough for what i use it for. Hard to clean off charred bits. This Smithey skillet has been perfect from first use for my gas stovetop meat searing and bacon cooking. I did one round of vegetable oil seasoning as recommended and it has been nice and slick, easy to scrape then wipe clean with a paper towel after cooking. Love it!
