We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

The quality of the skillet and engraving are impressive and destined for a lifetime of culinary creativity.
It is begging to be celebrated and heated for its maiden voyage, but will have to wait until 2026 graduation.

This is a beautiful pan I got as part of the Founder's Set. First use on each pan (10 & 12-inch) was sautéed onions, then browning ground beef, then frying bacon. It is the ideal sequence to season, and I am thrilled with the entire set! Highly recommended!
