Our No. 8 Chef Skillet is designed to be a daily cooking companion. The smaller shape and curved interior sides promote movement and flipping, while the longer handle keeps your hands farther away from heat. NO CHEMICAL COATINGS

Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

EASY TO CLEAN

Cast iron gets a bad rap for being hard to clean. We’re here to bust that myth and let you know that polished cast iron is easy to clean. Unlike rough cast iron, which allows food to get stuck in the crevices, polished cast iron like Smithey has a smooth surface that practically wipes clean. We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Do you have a lid that fits the No. 8 Chef Skillet?

No, we do not currently have a lid for our No. 8 Chef skillet.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What size sleeve fits the No. 8 Chef Skillet?

Cast iron skillet

Still working on the seasoning. Finally got my first egg to not stick. A work in progress, I’m sure soon it will be nice and slippery. I very much like the size and shape of the pan.

My daily egg skillet

Over easy to fried eggs. I'll be getting a bigger one so I can make omelettes in it. This one is a lil to small for omelettes, but the polish makes it work perfectly with alil olive oil or avocado oil. 100% recommended

My New Awesome 100% pure cast iron

This is the best cookware that I have ever owned no more cheap fake cookware no more Thanks Smitheys for your awesome cookware I am in love with your products I have the 8in and the 12in skillet with the wide superior spatula and the oil base for keeping my pans looking new. Took a few weeks to season but now love it for Eggs.

We bought this pan for frying eggs in the morning. Knowing about cast iron and reading instructions we knew there would be a seasoning period. We cooked hamburgers a few times, sauted veggies a few times before cooking eggs. We also used the grape seed oil for seasoning after each use. But still the first couple of weeks trying to cook eggs we had some sticking, even with copious amounts of oil. We purchased a flexible metal turner (it's a fish spatula) which helped to loosen the edges and flip easier. But now we are at about the 3 week mark of using it daily and haven't had any sticking for the past couple of days.
