We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.
The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

So far it has been very good for buttery garlic bread and a giant cookie! Even heat on both the bottom and sides for cooking throughout, and a perfectly non-stick surface with plenty of butter added. A very nice addition to my growing collection of Smithey Products!
By the third time I used it there was NO sticking. There was only a small place in the center the first time that stuck. My husband has discovered it so we may be buying an 8" eventually.
