Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

EASY TO CLEAN

Cast iron gets a bad rap for being hard to clean. We’re here to bust that myth and let you know that polished cast iron is easy to clean. Unlike rough cast iron, which allows food to get stuck in the crevices, polished cast iron like Smithey has a smooth surface that practically wipes clean. And, despite popular belief, you can use soap.

FAQ’s:
no. 6 Skillet

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

What size sleeve fits on the No. 6?

Our standard size leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 6 skillet.

Fantastic little skillet

Great for sauteing veggies and haven't done much else thus far but certainly will in the near future! Built like a tank and absolutely gorgeous!

Food glides like a dream!

I bought this for my husband who loves to make scambled eggs. It has always been a challenge to find a truly "non stick" pan until I came across this skillet during my late night doom scrolling on IG :) I'm so glad I made the jump to purchase and try it out. The egg just glides like a dream! I plan to expand my collection and slowly replace all my non stick pans to this. So worth the $$
