We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What size sleeve fits?

Our standard size leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 12 skillet.

Great pan!

Purchased in Charleston SC at the Smithey Ironware Company gift shop.

It was a great experience and the sales person (Kelly) did a fantastic job filling me in with all the info on how to use my new Smithey right out of the box!

The pans are beautiful and I’ve had great luck with all the new recipes I’ve cooked in it!

Can’t wait to add to my new collection!

Beautiful and functional

This pan is beautiful and very functional. It retains heat very well, allowing for great searing. It is very non-stick, even while the seasoning is building, as it has a polished surface. We love this skillet!

No. 12 cast iron skillet

I have used it 8-10 times since it arrived and I am quite happy with the results. It gets hot quickly and stays hot or I can vary the heat depending on what I am cooking. It cleans up very nicely and with just a light coating of oil is ready for the next meal.
