Due to the hand-forged nature of our carbon steel cookware and with each piece being slightly unique, we do not have a custom fitting lid for our wok.
With any piece of carbon steel cookware heat will eventually make its way to the handle. However, more often than not if making a quick stir-fry or searing a piece of protein the handle will not get hot.
We think that the handle of our wok is too handsome to cover up with a sleeve, so we do not have a custom fit sleeve for this piece. We recommend using our full-grain leather or suede potholder however.
Excellent design, front to back and all around. The material is very balanced, the handle accentuates giving the wok modernity that makes this wok stand out from the others.
The Smithey wok is beautifully constructed. It looks great and does a wonderful job. It is solidly built!
My only complaint is that the large handle should have been made a little shorter or a little smallerl because the wok tens to tip easily in the handle direction, when it it empty of food.
This thing is beautiful, and, almost exactly half the weight of my old wok, which was the same size. Holds heat well, despite the thin walls. A dream to use. Love it!
I wanted to surprise my wife with this Wok as a "regalo" (gift). However, the tables have turned, and I am now in awe of what she has created—more creativity and extraordinary dishes. She loves this Wok more than her husband... LOL... and I can't get close to it or touch it. It is used every single day. It brings out the best flavors, both familiar and new. Thank you for such a great piece of art.
Eventually after so many uses it become a well season for an every day use. For the first timers or even for regulars but suing brand new pans… this ar not an every use pan ready. To much money for so much work to do for eventually get it well season.
