We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Can I use the No. 14 Dual Handle skillet on my glass top or induction stove?

Yes! However, it is important that your burner be approximately as large as the underside of the No. 14 skillet to ensure even heat distribution (we recommend at least a 10" burner). If you're on a smaller stove, it is important to gradually bring your Smithey to temperature to ensure even heat distribution.

Can I braise in my oven with the No. 14?

Yes, turn your No. 14 skillet into a braiser with our custom fit 14" glass lid.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

Best cast iron pan I have ever owned

I simply adore this pan! I was wondering if it was going to be too big now that the kids are out of the house and we cook for only two. It is not! I love that I can cook multiple things in the pan at once, or cook enough chicken thighs for four lunches in one go. The pan itself is a thing of beauty. Wonderful heat distribution, and due to the pre-seasoning, a breeze to clean. This will not be my last Smithey!

They are like a piece of artwork. A gift for my daughter. She said they made the best steak she has ever cooked. She is quite the gourmet chef also!!

Best Hash Browns Ever - Sez the Food Critic I feed everyday

I bought this for outside grilling and I will use it when the season gets right. In the mean time, I am cooking indoors on an induction cooktop. I have a 2 stage heat up, and have made some hashbrowns that my wife tells me are the best.

Next on the agenda is a lid and maybe a 10 inch skillet.
