We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Does the 10" glass lid fit this skillet?

No, due to the curved interior of the No. 10 Chef skillet our 10" glass lid is not a custom fit. Technically yes it will function as a lid, but it is not a tight custom fit.

What oil do you use to pre-season?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

Love the skillet, not happy with my seasoning technique

I really love the look, feel and craftsmanship of my Smithey. It’s the first one with hopes to transform my entire set. However I haven’t yet effectively seasoned my skillet. I’ve followed the videos, and advice and still have my eggs stick each time. Can someone provide me some good advice on this topic? I would be grateful.

I read the reviews and if they were only partially correct I would have been happy. Food SLID out of the pan on first use. Indestructible but with the functionality or teflon--outstanding pan.

The gold standard …cast iron like no other!!!!

I have used cast iron skillets from all over the world.

Light weight, medium and heavy. Costs ranging from $35 to $500. In over forty years of cooking I found nothing that compares. They are masterpieces.

If you are like me and convinced you know what cast iron is all about. Stop. Let me tell you the truth… if you do not buy one of these pans right now you will be missing a chapter of the joy of cooking.

I now have three skillets 8, 10 and 12in. All are fabulous. Next I’m headed to their Dutch Ovens
