We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Does the 10" glass lid fit this skillet?

No, due to the curved interior of the No. 10 Chef skillet our 10" glass lid is not a custom fit. Technically yes it will function as a lid, but it is not a tight custom fit.

What oil do you use to pre-season?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

Gorgeous out of the box…

But then, immediately, the factory seasoning goes away making the pan kind of…unattractive. Other than that, I like the weight, the nonstick. This is my first smithey, not yet sure if I’ll invest in more yet.

Meh

Just ok, factory seasoning comes off with first use. Company is marketing its beautiful copper unused look. Pan will not stay this way. Even after following the instructions perfectly the seasoning is very spotty, works fine but it is not good looking anymore. I’ve used it many times with seasoning and it isn’t getting better. I like the quality of the smooth surface and the pan itself. They are heavy like other iron pans.
