We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Does the 10" glass lid fit this skillet?

No, due to the curved interior of the No. 10 Chef skillet our 10" glass lid is not a custom fit. Technically yes it will function as a lid, but it is not a tight custom fit.

What oil do you use to pre-season?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

Skillet Happiness

I am totally enjoying my new #10 chefs skillet. I started using it right away and I've got it seasoned well. I've been able to cook a number of meals, including fried eggs and even scrambled eggs with cheese and had no problem with anything . I may even consider going for a #8 pan after liking this one.

Just the Right Size when Cooking for Two

Really works well for breakfast and making side dishes for dinner. It has replaced a coupe of older pans, which has increased cupboard space and gets used nearly every day. Great balance and the extra long handle help to keep hands away from the hot fire.

Best. Pan. Ever.

I was in the market to purchase a longer lasting and cleaner cooking option for everyday use. I was tired of the toxic cooking chemicals on the non-stick pans from the big box stores. My brother-in-law noted he used Smithey products and was extremely pleased with their quality. I bit the bullet and decided to try the 10 Chef Skillet. I cannot recommend this pan enough. It cooks my meals to perfection. There is a learning curve regarding heat management and the seasoning of the pan. Do not fret and follow the included instructions and you will be fine. The pan is incredibly non-stick and cooks my food evenly and quickly. I will definitely be buying more of their products in the future.
