Why this Lid?
Lids are an important part of a well-rounded cookware collection, adding the ability to steam or lock in moisture and heat.
So, we took our time, made many prototypes, and tested them thoroughly until we achieved a lid that is beautiful, functional, and custom-fit with a 12-inch diameter for our Deep Farmhouse Skillet and Round Roaster.
Smithey’s Carbon Steel lids are thoughtfully designed using high-quality seasoned carbon steel and complete with a gold cast stainless steel knob. Use yours to stop stovetop splatter, keep food warm, and add even more versatility to your favorite Smitheys.
Note: Because each Smithey carbon steel piece is hand forged, slight variations in fit may occur when pairing lids with individual skillets and roasters.
FAQs: Carbon Steel Lid
We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.
Do you have multiple sizes of the carbon steel lid?
At this time, we have a 12’’ carbon steel lid that is a perfect fit for the Round Roaster, and the Deep Farmhouse Skillet.
Will this lid fit other 12’’ Smithey cookware?
This lid is custom-fit for the Round Roaster, and the Deep Farmhouse Skillet. It can also be used with the Farmhouse Skillet, No. 12 Cast Iron Skillet, and 7.25 Qt Dutch Oven; however, on these pieces, the lid may not sit completely flush and could rest slightly ajar.
How Do I Wash This Lid?
Wash by hand with dish soap, and make sure you dry thoroughly with a towel or by placing your lid in a warm oven to ensure that all excess moisture is evaporated.

Beautiful lid for my skillet. Only reason for less rating showed with some minor damage around lid edge. Package was delayed with carrier and by looks of the package it had been resealed and taped. Not really smitheys fault, they make the best natural cookware.

Wouldnt enjoy the pan nearly as much without the lid which is perfect, and come to find out resonates like a chime which must indicate even thickness and good stiffness. Also fun to listen to.

The metal lid beautifully matches the farmhouse skillet and completes the design. I would have preferred if the steam had an outlet to reduce the condensation formed at the roof of lid.
