THE CASE FOR
OUR CAST IRON

USE IT ANYWHERE

From kitchens to campfires, your Smithey is at home wherever there is heat and is designed to work on all sources, from gas and fire to induction and electric. And don’t worry, it won’t scratch your stovetop.

INVEST IN YOUR KITCHEN

Your grandchildren will thank you! We’ve designed and crafted every Smithey to withstand the test of time, become even better with age, and be an heirloom in your family’s kitchen.

THE PERFECT WEIGHT

It’s true—cast iron can be heavy. Luckily, this is something we take into account when designing new pieces. We craft every Smithey to be as light as it can be while maintaining the perfect weight for optimal heat retention.

EASY TO CLEAN

Cast iron gets a bad rap for being hard to clean. We’re here to bust that myth and let you know that polished cast iron is easy to clean. Unlike rough cast iron, which allows food to get stuck in the crevices, polished cast iron like Smithey has a smooth surface that practically wipes clean. And, despite popular belief, you can use soap.

Skillet appreciation

I loved the skillet. I make pizza dough and use the skillet as a baking form to have a depth to put ample ingredients in without overflow. The surface is as close to nonstick as I have found.

Non-Stick Right Out of the Box

My first cook after a light coating of seasoning oil was a single large biscuit. I couldn't believe how easily the biscuit slid around the pan when I took it out of the oven. Not even a crumb was stuck to the pan. Can't wait to use this pan for many decades then hand it down to one of my boys to use for the rest of their lives.

They are fine but wildly overpriced

The pan is pretty, but the exterior rough surface is a pain to clean. The seasoning seems to come off easier than my budget Lodge cast iron pans. It's kind of hard to flip eggs because the walls are so high relative to the size of the cooking surface, I have to use a thin spatula to get some purchase on the slippery eggs.
