No, we do not currently have a lid for our No. 8 Chef skillet.
We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.
Our extended length leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 8 skillet.

I use the skillet for eggs mostly. I have followed your advice on seasoning and usually reseason every three to four cooks. I use an avocado oil lightly in the pan, then smoke it over a high gas heat. Once it’s smoking, I shut off ther heat and recoat with oil. Once it’s cooled, I may wipe any excess lightly away. What advice do you have for improving this technique?
I really like the weight of the pan and how evenly it heats. I cook scrambled eggs on medium to low heat and take the pan of the heat to keep the eggs from sticking. I may do this a couple of time for no more than 20-30 seconds. I generally have to use a plastic scraper (a lodge one since I have several of their pans.pots.

Great pan
Awesome smaller pan has a nice handle for flipping. I really like the finish on these pans and they’re great to cook on if you season it properly it’s very non stick.
So much nicer than my old skillet. I am still in the process of seasoning it, but everything cooks very nicely so far.
