No, due to the curved interior of the No. 10 Chef skillet our 10" glass lid is not a custom fit. Technically yes it will function as a lid, but it is not a tight custom fit.
We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.
The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

This pan changed my opinion of cast iron being a pain to cook with, clean, maintenance. Iv had a cheep lodge for years and hated cooking with it. Everything stuck, it was heavy, pain in the rear to clean, never could get the seasoning right, honestly the inexpensive lodge skillets turned me away from cast iron cooking for years. Purchased this 10" chef skillet for cooking steaks and cooking eggs and it has worked flawless, nothing sticks, eggs slide around in the pan and super easy to clean. Im very happy with this product! And is made in USA.
This is my 2nd Smithey pan and I love them both for smooth fast sautes, griddling, searing and all stove-top cooking.
These pans heat up quickly and evenly, hold their heat for a long time, and they clean up easily with a chain scrubber and a touch of soap. I find they get better and better every time I use them.
This was the easiest pan to season I have ever had. Initial heat was clean and took to the avocado oil with out too much discoloration. Eggs slide around potatoes don’t stick or burn. Just a great pan
