We designed the No. 12 Dual Handle Skillet as a variation of our best-selling No. 12 Traditional Skillet. With two handles crafted for a natural, comfortable grip, this piece makes carrying meals from stovetop to table simple and secure.  We've also opened the wall angle of the pan slightly to provide additional capacity and better access to the cooking surface.  Carefully crafted with Smithey’s pledge to exceptional quality, this skillet is perfect for meals that move from range to oven to table.

Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

What lid options are available for the No. 12 Dual Handle Skillet?

We offer a custom-fit 12" glass lid designed specifically for this skillet. Additionally, the No. 12 Flat Top Griddle can be used as a lid, making it a versatile option for your kitchen.

Can I use the No. 12 Dual Handle skillet on my glass top or induction stove?

Yes! However, for best results, ensure your burner is at least 10" in diameter to promote even heat distribution. If using a smaller burner, gradually bring your Smithey up to temperature to avoid hot spots.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

Two handle 12 skillet - the workhorse now.

Just our hard the 12” no handle to add to my list of Smithey cast irons I use.

It’s made my 12” with handle redundant. No more worrying about the handle being a hazard when in the range, no more having to position the handle so that it’s not in the way or at risk of being bumped.

It fits on the table for service, storage is easier and using two hands to handle it makes it easier given the weight.

Interested in hearing others experiences with it.

Loving the dual handle skillet

I have been home from my trip to Charleston SC for a week. My new skillet was here waiting for me when I returned home. It was beautifully packaged, and arrived safely. After a quick was I started cooking with it immediately, very nice, completely non-stick, and excellent heat retention. I have cooked every meal for the pack week in my new skillet, everything including bread and corn bread, multiple chicken and fish dishes, amazing steaks and burgers, eggs-bacon and sausage, everything beautifully nonstick and nicely finished. The seasoning is starting to blacked and is very smooth and resilient. Loving it and an excellent addition to my griswold collection.

Love this so much!

I bought this for my husband. He was wanting a really good cast iron pan. Well I have to say I am reaping all the benefits because he has been cooking some really amazing things lately. He loves the non stick and how easy it is to take care of it. He made me a pineapple upside down cake in it for my birthday. He said the cake did not stick at all and was really impressed with it. I was too as the cake was amazing.

Lawt!!! Cooks like imagined. Switched out all my killing me teflon junk for all cast iron. Ain’t looking back. I have the 12” flat round griddle as well! Absolute pleasure to cook on and the clean
