Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

FAQ’s:

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What size sleeve fits?

Our standard size leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 12 skillet.

Great cookware

We have cooked eggs and hamburger in it for most part. Cooks very well and nothing sticks if you use proper techniques. It takes time to figure it out to get the best results. So never give up on giving it a shot.

Best pan I’ve ever used. I do fried chicken with beef tallow for the first few runs to seal the pan. Seasons like a dream. 10/10

Works great!

Beautiful skillet, I cook with it very frequently. The smooth surface makes establishing seasoning seem deceptively ineffective but if you keep cooking it does happen perfectly. I love it!
