As beautiful as it is functional, the hand-forged Farmhouse Skillet features performance that rivals cast iron at a lighter weight.
A genuine “farmhouse” skillet, inspired by American blacksmith design of the 18th and 19th century, the Smithey 12” carbon steel skillet is as much of a work of art as it is a cooking tool. Limited in nature and forged by hand, each Farmhouse skillet is crafted by an artisan blacksmith in Charleston, SC. Each piece is visually unique while sharing core design features such as a handle inspired by traditional fire tools and the signature Smithey 3-holed helper handle. With performance that rivals cast iron at a lighter weight, these skillets are designed to elevate your everyday cooking experience.

Due to the hand-forged nature of our carbon steel cookware and with each piece being slightly unique, we do not have a custom fitting lid for our Farmhouse skillet.
We think that the handle of our Farmhouse skillet is too handsome to cover up with a sleeve, so we do not have a custom fit sleeve for this piece. We recommend using our full-grain leather or suede potholder however.
With any piece of carbon steel cookware heat will eventually make its way to the handle. However, more often than not if making a quick stir-fry or searing a piece of protein the handle will not get hot.

I love this! Eggs any way, no stick. I sautéed vegetables & shrimp, yummy. I am very happy!
Love it. Phenomenal customer service as well!
My first Smithey and I should have paid closer attention to the dimensions. The sides of this pan are WAY short. If your used to a regular frying pan, i'd get the deep Farmhouse Skillet. I have Allclad skillets and the Farmhouse has trouble keeping to food in the pan. The Smithey instructions say to cook fatty hamburger or onions for the first use. I hade one pound of hamburger and had trouble browning the burger and keeping it in the pan as I browned the burger. There's $300+ I'll never get back. Well made pan, but utterly useless. Don't waste your money.
Awesome product and customer service. I have bought 10 smitheys for myself and friends
