Our No. 8 Chef Skillet is designed to be a daily cooking companion. The smaller shape and curved interior sides promote movement and flipping, while the longer handle keeps your hands farther away from heat. Like all Smithey skillets, the interior features a smooth, polished finish that, when seasoned, is naturally non-stick. Use it well!

Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Do you have a lid that fits the No. 8 Chef Skillet?

No, we do not currently have a lid for our No. 8 Chef skillet.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What size sleeve fits the No. 8 Chef Skillet?

Our extended length leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 8 skillet.

I like the color and the rugged detail in the pans. Alrhough curing will affect the color, it is a nicely crafted item. Is it that much better than the $25 traditional cast iron, you can decide but the pans value is more how they look than perform

The Best

Have a #12 and a #10, always wanted a smaller one for eggs and stuff. The #8 is perfect! Never comes off the stove! Love it!

Great little pan

My son loves it!

I bought it for my son for Christmas to make his morning gourmet breakfast sandwiches which he also makes for his fellow detectives. He already thanked me twice and told his sister and I that we need to get this pan.
