We’ve heard the stories about your best friend putting your prized skillet through the dishwasher, or leaving your favorite piece by the campfire in the rain. Or maybe you have a special piece of cast iron passed down from your great grandma that has seen better days. We are here to help restore your beloved cookware to its former glory. We love cast iron and we love restoring cast iron.
When you send your cookware back to us, it will be under the expert care of our cast iron restoration team. We will lovingly care for your cast iron or carbon steel cookware, taking it through our specialized restoration process. Whether it’s a Smithey, an old Griswold or Wagner, we would be honored to bring your pan back to life and send it back to you for another lifetime of memories.
Restoration Service Terms and Conditions
Smithey Ironware Company LLC (Smithey) offers premium services to restore and enhance your cast iron and carbon steel cookware. Please read the following terms governing the purchase of a restoration from Smithey.
1. You will receive a return slip via email for your restoration order within two business days of order being placed via email. Service orders not shipped to Smithey within 60 days will be cancelled and charges will be refunded to your original payment method.
2. Upon receipt of your cookware at Smithey, it will be inspected prior to any services rendered. The following list includes (but is not limited to) issues that prevent us from rendering the agreed upon service to your cookware: enameled cookware, cookware containing cracks and or structural damage, engraving a non-Smithey piece of
cookware, cookware does not fit the dimensions you provided.
3. Please carefully package your cookware prior to transit. Smithey is not responsible for items damaged or lost in transit.
We are only able to restore seasoned cast iron or carbon steel cookware. We are unable to restore enameled cookware, copper cookware, stainless steel cookware, or aluminum cookware right now.
Three weeks, depending on shipping time and the condition of your cookware. You may always contact us via text 843-619-0082 for status updates.
Cookware with large amounts of rust or significant variances in texture due to seasoning/char build-up can be restored through our restoration process. The restoration service can also tune up any old or vintage pieces of cast iron back to its prime.
I was not sure what to expect when I sent my heirloom skillets off for restoration. They looked to be in pretty bad shape. When I received the return shipping information, I couldn’t wait to see how they turned out. When I unpacked them I was absolutely floored. They were perfect! It’s been so nice to have them to use. I did my best to ruin my favorite cast iron (note sarcasm and eye roll here!) as I am somewhat of a rookie cooking on cast iron. I made a tomato sauce based dish in the pan (uh no!) then left it in the pan overnight....if that wasn't bad enough, made bacon in it outside on the grill and the grease solidified so I thought I'd heat it up quick on the grill burner so I could just pour it out and clean the pan. Well....totally forgot about it for HOURS! Glad I didn't burn the house down! There was lava-like residue and a lot of other not good stuff in the pan.
Sent it in for help, fully expecting a response like, uh yeah...you succeeded in ruining your cast iron! But no, got it back and it is beautiful! Thank you so much! I will be much more careful in the future!!!
My parents received a Griswold cast iron frying pan as a wedding present in 1945. It needed restoration to remove layers of build-up.
Smithey's restoration was amazing and quick. I showed the pan to my sisters at Thanksgiving. We are all grateful that this family heirloom is ready for another 79 years of loving use.
Smithey didn’t have a lid that would fit but they sent along a leather handle cover as a gift - so nice!
