Several weeks ago we were invited to join Tom and Lisa Perini and their team at Perini Ranch in Buffalo Gap, TX for a two day celebration of all things cast iron. Tom has been a cast iron collector for years - dating back to his days as a true Texas chuck wagon cook.
We were thrilled to geek out over some of his vintage pieces as friend and fellow chuck wagon cook Homer Robertson put his own pieces to good use preparing incredible food over live fire beside his own restored vintage chuck wagon.
Later we had the chance to talk all things cast iron with fellow cast iron lovers under the mesquite trees at the ranch. It was a good reminder that wherever you are, nothing beats gathering with good people around great food cooked in cast iron!
