I had some trepidation switching from non-stick pans to cast iron. Well, Smithey has figured out how to make cast iron better than non-stick and without any of the non-stick pan health concerns. The switch was painless and the skillet is heirloom quality beautiful. Do it!
Heirloom it is indeed! I wanted my wife to have something we can pass down to our children. Engraved on the bottom is what she is definitely known for. We've used the skillet several times and we love it so far; it'll only get better with time! It is pretty heavy, but love the pour spouts and the overall thickness.
