No, due to the curved interior of the No. 10 Chef skillet our 10" glass lid is not a custom fit. Technically yes it will function as a lid, but it is not a tight custom fit.
We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.
The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

I have had a glass stovetop for years, and was always under the impression that I could not use cast-iron. I have found that the Smithey cast-iron is fine on my glass stovetop. It is easy to use, cleans up easily, and is definitely worth every penny that it costs.
I wanted to get this one pan before I went and got a package or other individual pans/pots. I have made ground beef, eggs, omelet, veggies. This has been a fantastic purchase, easy to clean and easy to use. I can’t wait to add to my collection and replace all of my pots and pans with Smithey products.
Huge disappointment. I really had my hopes high. I am an experienced chef and have cooked exclusively with cast iron for over the last decade. Compared to my Lodge cast iron i would say Smithey is a huge fail — both pans lost the factory seasoning after first use. I have reseasoned using both stove top and iven method. They come out looking great, but after use are back to raw iron. Theg just don’t hold seasoning like my Lodge does. For the price point these pans should be next level. They packaging and box presentation was amazing, the accessories amazing too. But the pans as stated disappointing. I hope with continued use they will change my mind, but for now I will continue to use my Lodge Cast Iron.
