Soup pot
We are thrilled with our new cookware! This is now my go-to for soups and stews; everything else has been donated. Highly recommend!!
The Smithey Dutch oven is non-enameled and naturally seasoned with a pure grape-seed oil. While great for breads, soups, stews and more- boiling pasta or water is not the best use of your Smithey Dutch oven.
A well-seasoned Smithey does not fear any acidic dishes. Before diving into chili and tomato sauces however, we recommend establishing a more mature seasoning layer through baking or frying.
No, currently the 3.5QT lid only fits our 3.5QT Dutch oven.

Well I have not put it to work yet but I plan on making some bread soon and then on to beef short rib’s and lot’s of other dishes chicken ,roast’s ect. And I’m sure it will perform as well as my other Smithey product’s do.Thank you for the great product’s.
I wanted a Dutch oven for making sourdough bread - all of my friends have that to not be named French Dutch oven that has enamel- I did not want an enameled Dutch oven and came across the Smithey Dutch oven from some research- first off it is a beautiful work of art! It is so well made , and heavy! Secondly it does a spectacular job with keeping my sourdough moist and with the lid off last 15 mins a great golden crisp - I have also used the Dutch oven to make some complex vegetarian curries, I cook a lot of Indian food and the even heating in this pot is just perfect for curries -
I am excited to try out more recipes in my Smithey!
10/10 would recommend to a friend
I own this one and the largest Dutch oven and both perform flawless and are beautiful works of art!
