It was a gift, but I reviewed it before I gave it

I have cooked on cast Iron for many years. I purchased this skillet for a friend who is also an accomplished chef. I had been looking at your product advertising in G & G for a number of years, so took the occasion of a friend's birthday to give you a try. I inspected the skillet and it looked to be a very nice piece indeed. I was pleased to give this fine item as a gift to someone who will know the difference.

Most used pan in my kitchen

Love this pan, easy to use and handles great, well balanced and the seasoning is coming on great almost completely filled in and non stick. This skillet has been used for omelets, pork loin chops seared than oven finished, sautéed onions, stove top Chicken Cordon Bleu, bacon & eggs, chicken & pork Milanese, pan fried chicken and hamburgers.

The chef skillet design ( curved sloped sides ) makes it a little more user friendly than my trusty hundred year old #8 Wagner that my Grandmother passed on to me.

Great American Craftsmanship !!!

Great skillet

This is my second smithey iron chef skillet. My first skillet took me some time to understand how to use it. These skillets are GREAT! Heavy enough to make sure everything is evenly cooked. I wipe the warm skillet with a little oil after use to keep the seasoning working smoothly. Easy clean up and a wonderful skillet! Definitely recommend.

Excellent thoughtful skillet from folks that have (obviously) actually cooked ! Beautiful and utilitarian - form follows function!!!

Great skillet !! I just made grilled cheese sandwiches (cheddar + mozzarella) on home made sourdough bread with handmade Kim Chi - plenty of butter to crisp bread!

Best pan I've ever used

I leave this pan on my stove because it is a beautiful piece of cast iron. But mostly I leave it there because it is going to get used a lot. Having cooked onions, ground beef and brussels sprouts, this morning I put it to the non-stick test: eggs over easy. Perfect. No sticking, easy flipping. I love the chef style of this pan. I already have two sizes of old Griswold skillets (made in Erie, Pa., with a smooth finish). Those are great pans compared to any other cast iron, but this Smithey pan is a work of art as well as a premium kitchen tool.
