We’re often asked to explain the difference between cast iron and carbon steel skillets. Both retain heat exceptionally well and go from stovetop to oven to table. Both arrive at your door pre-seasoned and ready for cooking. Carbon steel is a bit lighter and heats up a little faster – perfect for the day’s catch of fresh trout to green beans stir-fried from our garden. Our cast iron skillets are a bit deeper and are ideally suited for pan-frying and baking. Ultimately, both skillets are great and versatile, and you deserve both in your kitchen! I did hesitate to pay $300 for a carbon steel skillet given the choices available but the reviews were good and, I must admit, this is the most beautiful skillet I’ve seen. And it cooks as well as expected. It’s a bit heavy but very useful. I love it.
Was nervous to originally purchase, more than I usually spend. But I was drawn to the potential to have this skillet around forever. I am beyond happy! It is incredible to cook with. The even heating non-stick cast iron has made me a better cook. They are also incredibly easy to clean. I will be adding a few more products without question.
