I didn't think I needed this!
...and what was I thinking.....so useful!
Absolutely! The rings on our chainmail scrubber will not damage your seasoning layer and make cleaning any stubborn burnt on bit of foods easy.
Our seasoning oil has a shelf life of about 1 year. After that, you will want to replace it!

When I saw the care kit photo online I thought, "That's not enough oil to do much seasoning at all." Now that I have it, I realize that it's enough to reseason a whole bunch of pans, several layers on each. I really like the grape seed oil as it's solid at room temperature, so it's very easy to put on a thin, even coat.
The brush is stiff enough to get most of the gunk off the pan, and the stainless steel rings will take off any that the brush misses, and doesn't cut into the seasoning.
The whole kit feels like a well-made, quality item. Well worth the money.
If you’re spending the money to purchase a beautiful piece (or eight pieces) of Smithey, don’t forget this kit! The chainmail scrubber is a Godsend for stuck-on miscellanea and oddments, although in most cases, I’ve needed nothing more strapping than the scrubbing brush. I’ve yet to use the seasoning oil, (I’m waiting for a day I can open all the windows, but the skillet is as close to perfection as it could be right out of the box. Bottom line, if you’re going to invest in Smithey cookware, be sure to invest in the proper tools to keep it pristine. Happy cooking!
Everything I expected.
