Why this sleeve?
Handcrafted and branded with the Smithey logo over high-grade oil-tanned leather, this skillet sleeve is one of our favorite tools. The extended fit slides perfectly over the handle of the No. 8 & No. 10 Chef skillets, both No. 10 and No. 12 Flat Tops, and the No. 11 Deep Skillet. Like cast iron, these sleeves get better with time and use.

No, our sleeves are not sized to fit our carbon steel cookware.
Can I place the sleeve in the oven?
We do not recommend placing your leather sleeve in the oven. As leather is a natural material, it can burn.

Works well
I keep the sleeve on for things like frying eggs, where the heating time is short enough that the handle won't get too hot. I don't know if the sleeve would take the heat for a longer time at a hotter temperature, being made of leather.
