Carbon Steel Farmhouse Skillet
A genuine “farmhouse” skillet, inspired by American blacksmith design of the 18th and 19th century, the new Smithey 12” carbon steel skillet is as much work of art as it is a cooking tool. We hand-forge a limited number of these skillets in partnership with renowned Charleston blacksmith Robert Thomas Iron Design. Each piece is visually unique while sharing core design features such as a handle inspired by traditional fire tools and the signature Smithey 3-holed helper handle. With performance that rivals cast iron at a lighter weight, these skillets are designed to elevate your everyday cooking experience.

Beautiful skillet. All the ad copy and reviews about it being an heirloom quality piece are true. I thought the handle design was just for aesthetics but the design helps the handle stays relatively cool compared to other cast iron. I suggest seasoning at least once in addition to the seasoning that it comes with.
The Fusion of Art and Function. Love this piece!
It arrived on time. Well packaged. Gourgeous rustic skillet. Brilliantly made, brilliantly struck hammer marks. Beautiful glossy finish. Heats quickly, cooks even better. First, I seasoned it multiple times on the burner and in the oven but all the original coating (mine and Smithey's) came off after searing chicken. To be expected, I know. Gave me an opportunity to spend more time with it. And it was a pleasure to season it right back up, something to practice after each use. It's a lifetime affair. A+ rating.
I’m so impressed with the craftsmanship in this Farmhouse skillet!!!
Plus, I’ve been pleased with every meal I cooked in it!!!!
I use it daily❣️
The Farmhouse Skillet is the fourth pan Ive bought from Smithey. Love them all but this skillet takes the cake.
