We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

No, we do not currently have a lid for our No. 8 Chef skillet.
What oil do you use to pre-season with?
We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

All I can say is "Wow!"
I purchased another brand of higher-end cast iron, and those are the most used pans. We were hesitant to replace our nonstick egg pan. Finally, we decided to purchase the No. 8 in hopes that eggs would indeed slide around, and we loved the shape of the No. 8. All I can say is that it is fantastic for eggs. Not only does it slide around, but cooking them in a cast-iron skillet adds a whole new delicious twist to the eggs. We LOVE this pan, and I plan to gift one to each of my adult children. This thing will last a lifetime and, in the long term, will save money compared to constantly replacing a nonstick pan, with the added bonus of no chemical yuck in the food. Super-smooth surface; cooked great right out of the box. Super happy!

Beautiful small skillet
I love this skillet. It's perfect for my daily morning egg, which is the main reason I bought it, but it's also just right for whipping up a small quantity of pasta sauce. Given time, I'm sure I'll find many more uses for it..
