Can I use the potholder as a trivet as well?
After your Smithey cools a bit, you can use our potholder as a trivet. We don't recommend going directly from the stovetop or oven with your Smithey to the potholder as suede can burn!
Will the suede soften over time?
Like any piece of suede leather, as you break this potholder in it will soften with time. Feel free to use a touch of suede conditioner to keep this potholder in tip-top shape.

Great product and does the job
It's a great potholder and looks great as advertised. The only slight complaint is that the material comes quite stiff, making gripping a narrower handle a bit difficult. I imagine, like most leather products, that it will "break in," though. Seems very high quality and should last a lifetime.
