Due to the hand-forged nature of our carbon steel cookware and with each piece being slightly unique, we do not have a custom fitting lid for our Oval Roaster.
When properly heated on your stovetop carbon steel does not warp. On smaller stoves, we recommend gradually bringing your roaster to temperature to ensure even heat distribution.
The Oval Roaster is at home on your stovetop just as readily as it is in your oven. Take it outside and use it on the grill or better yet the campfire as well!

I recently bought the Smithey Oval Roadster and absolutely love it. The quality is exceptional, with a smooth, beautiful cast iron finish. It heats evenly and retains heat perfectly, making cooking a joy. The non-stick surface has been fantastic for both cooking and cleaning. The dual handles make it easy to maneuver, and the oval shape is great for all kinds of dishes. It's become a staple in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Highly recommended!
I've wanted a Smithey for several years, and finally chose the oval roaster as my first pick! Thank you, Dad, for birthday gift money! I've used it twice since receiving it a week ago and LOVE it!! First made rosemary roasted baby potatoes and then tried the Lamb Meatballs in Roasted Red Pepper sauce I found on the Smithey website.... they were amazing! At first, the quick change in coloring of the pan in these two cooking processes surprised me, but I researched some more and found it's normal, so will 'trust the process,' and use the pan often! I did reseason it which is creating a wonderful cooking surface. Final note: the size is perfect for cooking for two people which is mostly what I do. Signed ~ A Smithey Fan for Life!
