We created this 1-quart cast iron saucepan with a custom glass lid to round out your collection and serve as the perfect sidekick for meals that call for sauces, roux, gravies, and more. Its depth makes it ideal for indulgent side dishes like butter-poached potatoes and fried green beans. The lid locks in warmth, allowing you to move seamlessly from stovetop to tableside to serve decadent confits, spicy chili crisps, or savory sauces to your guests. This saucepan comes pre-seasoned, meaning it’s ready to use right out of the box. To break it in, start with side dishes and rich sauces that incorporate butter or other fats. While it may seem like an ideal rice pot, we do not recommend using this saucepan for boiling water.

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

Does the lid come with my saucepan?

Yes. The 6-inch glass lid is included with the purchase of the saucepan. 

Can I boil water in my saucepan?

Due to the nature of cast iron and its tendency to rust when exposed to moisture for long periods of time, we generally advise against boiling water in your saucepan. This piece performs best with dishes that incorporate oil or butter, which help maintain and strengthen the seasoning.

What can I cook in my saucepan?
