Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

EASY TO CLEAN

Cast iron gets a bad rap for being hard to clean. We’re here to bust that myth and let you know that polished cast iron is easy to clean. Unlike rough cast iron, which allows food to get stuck in the crevices, polished cast iron like Smithey has a smooth surface that practically wipes clean. And, despite popular belief, you can use soap.

FAQ’s:

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

What size sleeve fits on the No. 6?

Our standard size leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 6 skillet.

Awesome little skillets

I love the way they keep the heat. Perfect for searing. I make a sauteed onion and chicken dish in them for a bowl of rice and this size is perfect for that. My only beef with the whole process is the use a rubbery adhesive to stick a cardboard label inside the pan for shipping. This substance left a residue and stain on all four skillets. A little disappointing after cleaned and reseasoned the stain was still there. I have made several meals with them so far and they work great and look great (aside from the packaging stain)

My Cornbread skillet !

It made the fluffiest cake of southern cornbread I have ever seen. Have to put a little less mixture in it next time because it rose so beautifully.

Love it!

I live alone so the size is perfect for me. I have cooked eggs with no sticking. I made toasted cheese sandwich. Also sauteed veggies. It's like going back in time...my mother used cast iron skillets.
