This is a piece of Art, period. The beauty involved and the craftsmanship is second to none. What a wonderful gift.
Bought one of these when they were available. Before I used it for the first time I seasoned it a couple times with Avocado Oil according to Smithey’s suggested seasoning procedure (in the box with the Dutch Oven). First dish was Pepper Steak followed by Potato’s and Onions, the Ritz at Amelia Island signature Seafood Chowder, Stewed Tomatoes and Okra, just like my Mother used to make, (Almost!!) and Shrimp and Grits. I must say that this will be my main go to when preparing chowders, soups and any other dish that needs great consistent heat retention. By the way I sent my Brother in Law one and he feels the same way I do. Keep up the Great Work Smithey!!
What a beautiful piece of cookware. Great craftsmanship!
Where do I start? The Dutch Oven was so well seasoned. It did not require further attention. The lid fits my other 10-inch Smithey skillets. The quality is beyond any other cast iron out there. The products from Smithey's are well worth the price and are the way all cast iron should be made.
I love it! I LOVE IT! Used for making bread, various chicken recipes, chowders and soups - etc. I have two of them (One was a gift from another very happy customer.)
