After your Smithey cools a bit, you can use our potholder as a trivet. We don't recommend going directly from the stovetop or oven with your Smithey to the potholder as suede can burn!
Like any piece of suede leather, as you break this potholder in it will soften with time. Feel free to use a touch of suede conditioner to keep this potholder in tip-top shape.
Very happy I saw a video online where the guy demonstrated how the suede is more practical than the leather one. Glad I bought this item. I have used it with my griddle often.
