Can I use the potholder as a trivet as well?
After your Smithey cools a bit, you can use our potholder as a trivet. We don't recommend going directly from the stovetop or oven with your Smithey to the potholder as leather can burn!
Will the leather soften over time?
Like any piece of full-grain leather, as you break this potholder in it will soften with time. Feel free to use a touch of leather conditioner to keep this potholder in tip-top shape.

Give it time...it will soften
I got this potholder so I can replace some older, less desirable material potholders and found this one to be a bit stiff initially. Over time it has started to loosen up and I'm certain that like many 'full' leather products, it will become a go to in my kitchen.

Leather Potholder
Works well to set pots on, however, I wish it were a bit smaller and more flexible to make it easier to use to grasp lids, and side handles. I can’t seem to get it broken in enough to safely use for those purposes.

This Is a Great Replacement for Those Cloth Potholders
I bought these to replace all of those old ugly cloth potholders that my wife has. Quality construction, you can't beat the look and durability of leather, and not too dang pricy for genuine leather!
