Unlike many non-stick pans, every piece of Smithey cast iron is completely free of PFOA, PFAS, and PTFE. Instead, we pre-season our cookware with pure grapeseed oil, building a naturally nonstick surface that only gets better with use.

Unlike rough cast iron, which allows food to get stuck in the crevices, polished cast iron like Smithey has a smooth surface that practically wipes clean. And, despite popular belief, you can use soap.

The title is fine.

I purchased several of these as gifts for family members to honor our country's 250th birthday. I have not gifted them yet, but I think they are lovely. I am sure they will perform like my other Smithey skillets.
