EASY TO CLEAN

Cast iron gets a bad rap for being hard to clean. We’re here to bust that myth and let you know that polished cast iron is easy to clean. Unlike rough cast iron, which allows food to get stuck in the crevices, polished cast iron like Smithey has a smooth surface that practically wipes clean. And, despite popular belief, you can use soap.

FAQ’s: no. 6 Skillet

We stand behind the quality of our cast iron and carbon steel cookware. If your cookware is defective, we’ll replace it. If your cookware fails you after honest and normal use, we’ll repair or replace it.

What oil do you use to pre-season with?

We use 2-3 coats of pure grape seed oil to pre-season your Smithey with. Seasoning is applied by hand and there are no chemical coatings of any kind applied to your skillet.

What is the purpose of the three holes on the helper handle of the skillet?

The three holes are a unique identifier that allows a Smithey to stand in a crowd. Reach for it on the range!

What size sleeve fits on the No. 6?

Our standard size leather skillet sleeve is custom fit for your No. 6 skillet.

STINKING CUTE!

How can you not buy just one? These are perfect size for one person meals, small but mighty and nice weight to them. I’m also going to use for car camping. I made the ricotta Dutch baby pancakes and they turned out perfect, no sticking whatsoever and clean up was a breeze.

Small skillets, high performance, big impact

I did not use these skillets right out of the box. Rather, I oven-seasoned them a few times with grape seed oil just to be on the safe side. So far, I have made individual portions of roast veggies (onion, fennel, carrots), individual-size foccacias, and mini scones. No sticking, easy release, easy clean-up.

Love these skillets

These little skillets are wonderful, as are the recipes on the website! Within the first few days we make the Cowboy Cookies, Okonomiyaki and Mini Dutch Ricotta pancakes. All came out perfectly. The skillets are a perfect complement to the larger ones. Highly recommended!
