We initiated our 5.5 Qt with a standard 4 lb chuck roast, following the recipe and directions we found online. The result was a Sunday dinner to die for: the beef was tender and flaky and the accompanying vegetables were cooked to perfection. My wife and I have different perspectives on a lot of things. But we agree the Smithey 5.5 qt dutch oven was ideal purchase.

Also, it arrived in a timely fashion and the packing was perfect! One more thought. As native North Carolinians, we were overjoyed to send out business to a South Carolina company. All in the family!

I purchased several skillets and this dutch oven during Thanksgiving week. I've used several of the skillets and they're incredible, I can't believe how easy it is to cook with cast iron. This dutch oven is so solid, well made, and stunning in appearance. I haven't used it as yet, but based on how the Smithey skillets have performed, I'm sure this will be another homerun.
